On June 14th and July 23rd 2024, Maker Space consecutively held two training sessions for the secretary’s office, focusing on two of the most popular devices in the Maker Space: the heat press and laser engraver for practical implementation.
A colleague from the secretary’s office remarked, ‘Initially, our collaboration with Maker Space aimed to integrate campus resources. By facilitating our colleagues to learn machine and equipment operations, we hope to inspire more methods and ideas for future designs and productions at the NCCU Souvenir Center.’
In these short practical sessions, colleagues demonstrated rich creativity and practical abilities, producing a variety of finished products. For instance, using the laser engraver with acrylic boards, they created items such as coasters, tags, and table decorations.
This training session not only lowered the barrier to entry for using Maker Space equipment but also alleviated concerns about unfamiliarity with equipment operation. By the end of the event, discussions among colleagues about future possibilities for utilizing Maker Space equipment could be heard, with expectations to increase the usage rate of practical equipment and enhance the exposure of Maker Space.
