In the first semester of the academic year 112, Professor Chen Hung-Ying led 15 students in the “Capstone: Design for Social Innovation” course. The course covered discussions on exhibits, brainstorming, the design process, finding materials, and curatorial practices, guiding the students step by step in a hands-on manner.

In the classroom, extensive discussions were used to encourage students to spark each other’s creativity and translate abstract concepts into concrete atrworks. These intricate processes collectively contributed to the exhibition currently held at Treasure Hill in Taipei, titled “Hatching Flux.”

In the work 《演變之巖、移動之憶》, the maker space witnessed the birth of the piece. From the students’ selection of wood at the lumberyard to testing the wood with a laser cutting machine in the maker space, after several adjustments, the students found the most suitable method for presenting the work. The students’ experimentation in this process serves as an excellent example of the maker spirit.

If you are interested in the exhibition, feel free to visit Treasure Hill to show your support. Exhibition information can be found [here].
